The clock’s-a-ticking and the excitement is building. . . .
We’re ‘so’ looking forward to Gimme Shelter scheduled for March 16 at the Tijuana Yacht Club – 1405 St. Matthews Avenue. Our 5 ‘bands’ have been busy practicing; we’ve distributed over 500 tickets already and our Committee members have been busy soliciting prizes and donations.
Doors will open at 5:00 pm and close when the last guest leaves or midnight – whichever comes first. Food service is from 5 – 8pm.
We’re running the auction a little different than last year and our very own Dan Wachniak will be our live ‘auctioneer’ – this should be fun! Draws will take place through out the evening. A sampling of our prizes. . . . . a full golf membership to St. Boniface Golf Club; Superior Queen room accommodation for two people at Lake Louise Inn in Lake Louise, Alberta for seven days (six nights); a camera; leather jacket; gift certificates, gift baskets; limo rides, jewellery; etc., etc.
Oh, and we should mention that The World’s Greatest Escape Artist - Dean Gunnarson just might make an appearance/disappearance! And our emcee. . . .will be revealed a little later.
Special Note: If you’d like to come, but don’t want a ‘bud, spud and steak’ – be sure to ask for the orange ‘supporter ticket’. You still get to play; just no ‘bud, spud and steak’. All the proceeds from the ‘supporter’ tickets go to the foundation, whereas with the ‘regular ticket’ – a portion pays for your meal. If you know you can’t come, but want to support the cause – make a $25 cash donation by calling me @ 290-1473. You’ll receive a tax receipt for any cash donation of $25+
Last year we sold 700 tickets. We expect a complete sellout this year.
